Strike A Chord was an innovative music therapy project, aimed at supporting a collective of young people aged between 12-19 years, and delivered by youth mental health workers at Lowestoft’s young persons hub The Junction, and practitioners from Sunrise Studios.
As part of the project, two group songs were composed, written and produced by all of the participants. This has led to the composition of their last group song entitled ‘Let Your Light Shine’ themed around mental health, which is now available to download and/or stream on all major streaming platforms.
Alongside this final great achievement release, any profits made from the release of the single go back into Sunrise’s services which provides a range of support to young people within media and music.
Emma Ratzer, CEO of Access Community Trust which operates these services, said:
“We were proud to be able to host such a beneficial and positive project within the hub, the year-long project supported 15 young people in weekly sessions with their wellbeing, self-esteem, and confidence with performing and learning in music.”
