This Volunteer’s Week we’d like to take a moment to thank all the invaluable time volunteers give to our organisation across Suffolk & Norfolk to support our projects across both counties.

With over 40 volunteers that help to support our offerings every day of the year, our organisation wouldn’t be the same without the invaluable time they give towards our work to support people across our communities.

Ranging from supporting in our high street mental health crisis hubs, at our social entprises adult life opportunity centres and so much more.

Benefits of Volunteering:
  • New skills and valuable work experience.
  • Making new friends.
  • Better physical and mental health and wellbeing.
  • Giving something back.
  • Improving your confidence.
  • Sense of connection to others in the community.
  • Improve how things work for the better.
  • Show your commitment.

We’ve spotlighted some current opportunities available to volunteer Across Access’ projects and services below…

Sunrise Film Festival – Lowestoft | Delivered by our social enterprise Sunrise Studios

The Sunrise Film Festival is currently Suffolk’s largest short film festival, dedicated to showcasing the best in independent made British short films. As a BIFA qualifying event, the festival provides a significant platform for undiscovered filmmakers to gain recognition and reach wider audiences.

For Sunrise Film Festival we recruit an enthusiastic team of volunteers to help with the running duties associated with the Festival.

It is fair to say we would be lost without the support of volunteers and we would love to welcome you to become part of the team for the 2024 festival.

Roles Available:

  • Ushering/front of house stewards, Box office, Merchandise sellers.
  • Photography/Videography/Social Media crew.

Volunteering roles really do vary but are all equally great fun and are a wonderful way to meet like-minded individuals + possible new friends. You’ll develop new skills and gain experience within the exhibition/film industry + be able to watch some really great film for free!
