Strike A Chord is a collective of young people aged between 12-19 years old who are currently supported with music therapy, delivered by youth mental health workers at Lowestoft’s young persons hub The Junction, and Sunrise Studios.
As part of the project, they have also been experimenting with writing and learning music and how to play instruments. This has led to the composition of their very own Christmas Single titled ‘The Winters Night’, which is now available to download and/or stream on all major streaming platforms from 1 December 2023.
Alongside this great achievement release, all monies raised will be donated back into the service which provides a range of holistic support to young people struggling with their mental health.
You can watch a short video below on YouTube, which showcases exactly what the project is doing for young people in Lowestoft.
With community production company Sunrise Studios hailing “this great achievement release,” all monies raised will be donated back into the service which provides a range of holistic support to young people struggling with their mental health.
The youngsters are also hoping to raise awareness of the “no stigma and welcoming service” and share the important work the charity does to support other young people under 25 – just like themselves – with free mental health and wellbeing support at The Junction, based at 119 Bevan Street East in Lowestoft.
Emma Ratzer, CEO of Access Community Trust which operates these services, said: “It’s such a fantastic service.
“We are proud to be able to host such a beneficial and positive project within the hub, which is supporting 15 young people in weekly sessions with their wellbeing, self-esteem, and confidence with performing and learning in music.”
