What do our Housing Services Provide?

What do our Housing Services Provide?

All the services apart from Denmark House provide support to enable customers to progress over a maximum period of 18 months to independent living.

Every one of those customers will complete a fully documented and jointly agreed upon agreed support plan which is reviewed at least once every 6 weeks to progress towards independent living. We can provide access to a wide range of skills-based activities such as cooking, cleaning and horticulture. We also provide access to advocacy support to ensure customer receive all the support they need from statutory services. In addition, we also signpost customers to other services and support them to become economically active through employment, education, training or volunteering. When customers are ready we also assist them to secure move on accommodation.

Suffolk Single Persons Homeless Service

Suffolk Single Persons Homeless Service is available for ages 18 and over and are operated by
Access Community Trust. There are 2 centres in Lowestoft.

The Fyffe Centre, which offers 27 single rooms with shared communal toilet and washing facilities with meals provided. The Fyffe Centre help people turn their lives around and involves support on areas such as substance misuse, mental health support, money management and skills development. They also offer residents an opportunity to help out at their allotment project to grow produce which supplies the kitchen with seasonal produce. Residents also get the opportunity to be involved in Mindfulness workshops.

Phoenix House offers 22 bedrooms, some of which have their own wash and toilet facilities. Here, residents provide their own food and have access to a communal kitchen. The Phoenix Centre also help people turn their lives around and involves support on areas such as substance misuse, mental health support, money management and skills development. They also offer residents an opportunity to help out at their allotment project to grow produce which supplies the kitchen with seasonal produce. Residents also get the opportunity to be involved in Mindfulness workshops.

Norfolk Single Persons Homeless Service

Norfolk single persons homeless service is available for ages 18 years and over.

John Room House offer 10 well-appointed bedsits with newly fitted kitchens and shower-rooms with full supported living and 12 independent move on modern, well presented and spacious one bedroom flats.

The team at John Room House help people turn their lives around and move from the project in to independent living by providing support to clients wanting to achieve a better quality of life. Individually tailored support is available across many areas such as debt, substance misuse, mental health support, money management, general living skills and employment skills development. They also offer residents the opportunity to assist with the poly tunnel project on site, to grow seasonal produce as well as also having the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of activities, courses and workshops both at John Room House and at our sister project in Thetford, The Crossing.

The purpose built building is staffed 24 hours a day with a secure intercom entry system and full CCTV.

Suffolk Sheltered Accommodation the over 55’s

Suffolk Sheltered Accommodation Service is available for 55 and over.

Denmark House Sheltered Housing gives older people the independence of having their own room, with the security of having an alarm system and house staff on site. There are up to 10 bedrooms with laundry and catering services available.
