About Adult life opportunity services provided by Access across Suffolk.

SOLD Studios

Access are proud to announce that in 2024 we welcomed SOLD Studios into our portfolio of services.

SOLD Studios was established in 1987 as The Jonathan Day Centre by a local man, for people with disabilities. Jonathan passed away in 1999, but his legacy lives on stronger than ever.

Over the 35 years since, hundreds of people have taken advantage of SOLD Studios’ community facilities and benefitted from what could be a life-changing service. SOLD now forms part of our Adult Life Opportunities services, offering a safe environment and support for meaningful experiences to people with disabilities. Based in Lowestoft with a general catchment of around 25 miles of North Suffolk and South Norfolk, encompassing Lowestoft, Beccles, Bungay, and Great Yarmouth areas.

The Olive Centre

The Olive Centre (previously Lowestoft’s over 60s centre) merged with Access Community Trust in March 2023, who are now responsible for its care and management.

The Lowestoft Club for Elderly People was founded by Miss Jeannie Mann and Lady Somerleyton in 1956. It was the headquarters of the Lowestoft Elderly People’s Welfare Committee. The original building was demolished and continued in the building we see today in 1987.

There is no membership fee and you do not have to pay a penny to use the centre. Many people use our space to meet friends, enjoy a drink or bite to eat and to engage in the variety of activities and socials we put on.

What’s on – Books, magazines, playing cards and board games are always available, as well as our very own ‘Jigsaw Corner’.

Special clubs, evening events and other special functions also take place.

A coffee bar is open for drinks and snacks and our fantastic kitchen team serve a beautiful hot lunch everyday at 12 noon (order by 11:30am).

The centre is open 10 am – 3:00pm on Mondays to Fridays, with food and drink available everyday.
